I never took a picture of Lisa, so sorry she was behind me.

ON THE SAND DUNES FOR LISA’S BIRTHDAY PARTYHi All I’m so sorry I haven’t had a chance to get back to some of you lately, but apart from the discomfort of this shoulder I am just so tired, as the pain is bad at night, waking me up each  time I want to turn over in bed. It’s been a regular aking at intervals of two to three hours, and as you shouldn’t take anti inflammatory tabs on an empty stomach, I get up and have a biscuit and some milk. , than feel bushed next day.

I haven’t had any feedback from the X Ray, so i take it that there is nothing sinsister going on there, and I have the physio on 10th August.

The pain isn’t too bad during the day, so long as I am careful in what I do, the other day I reached up to the top shelf to bring down a bowl, and my arm locked on the way down, Gordon Bl**y Bennett, was it sore, it gave a sickening click and unlocked. Pass the smelling salts. Anyhow, I don’t want to keep on about it, suffice to say it’s the reason I haven’t been around, though I have managed to catch up with some gardeing due to the beautiful weather.

Today I uploaded all my videos from the camcorder, all 222 of them, I haven’t looked yet as I have the laptop going at the same time and took the opportunity to catch up while I was waiting. Unfortunately I have to go out shortly, It’s my grand daughter Lisa’s birthday today and we are gooing out for a Chinese tonight, I have to leave here 5.30 and the dogs have to be taken out first, so hopefully I’ll be able to have a lazy day going over the videos to-morrow.

i’ve had Sue’s Nettle for a couple of days while Sue did some overtime, Nettle had been spayed and she didn’t want to leave her for such a long day.

I’d saved this as a draft as I didn’t have time to finish it as I wanted, and I’m swearing like a trooper, all the videos I uploaded haven’t worked! I can’t open them, a wasted day, damn.

I decided to have another go to-day as it was raining, and tried it on my lap top, and guess what? I think I may have succeeded, so if I have……. with any luck I might be able to show them, that is, if I can sort out how to, always the optimist that’s me.

There was a slight change of plan for Lisa’s birthday, Martin her dad, decided we should go to the beach instead, and buy a Chinese, so off we trundled, with flasks, chairs, blankets and Uncle Tom Cobbley and all, I met them at 7 pm and we stayed till 10pm, we had to be out by then as they shut the car park gates, we went to Hengistbury Head, I of course, forgot to take the camera, and tried to take a couple of photos on the mobile, oh dear, many were not too good, but I’ve put a couple on here just to show the mad family I belong to.

The evening finished with a fireworks display at Bournemouth which was about 8 miles away, little Tommy was quite fascinated, it was a good, though different evening, memories are made of these silly thinks though, aren’t they? Off into the garden now for a little inspection as it’s stopped raining, then out with the dogs, Catch up with you all asap, promise.

The pics are a bit grainy and out of focus, sorry, I tried to put captions on them but WP was being temperamental and kept deleting them.

  1. I had frozen shoulder and it hurt like crazy for about 9 months, hot water bottles will help at night Arlene so you don’t have to take a pill because I use to do what you are doing and eating at night so I could take a pill, now I have a stomach full of ulcers that nearly claimed my life 5 years back because I was so bloody ill with them I couldn’t eat and that gave me gallstones and now I’m in a bad way with them and have to eat a restrictive diet free from any fats or I get in the most terrible pain and then I’ve been declined for surgery because I have stomach ulcers and it would put be at to much of a risk… So my advice to you Arlene take the hottie to bed and do some very gentle exercise and leave those dam toxic pills in the bottle… Hugs Jude

    • Hi Lady Jude and many thanks for your interest and advice, I admit I do not like taking pills of any sort, but as you obviously know the pain can be quite bad with this complaint.4 am this morning was not a good time. It’s my right shoulder and that’s the side I sleep on, so it gets locked. I will try what you suggest as I certainly don’t want to experience what you unfortunately have, I am sorry you are suffering, not at all pleasant for you. I am keeping fingers crossed that the physio will help, or that it may disappear as mysteriously as it came.
Take care , and once again thank you.

  2. Trying again to leave a comment. I’m sorry about your shoulder. I’ve had that before for a long time and it just disappeared. I hope yours is soon well. You sure have some fine birthday memories. After an exciting day, little Tommy must have been ready for a snooze.

    • I’m sorry Gr Gran that you’ve had trouble posting to me, but glad you’ve made it. That has heartened me to hear that your frozen shoulder went on it’s own, This is better than it was, but it likes to remind me now and then that it’s still there. We do make quite a ‘do’ of birthdays in the family, so many lovely memories, Tommy was well pooped [tired] , Thanks for visiting. I’ll pop over to see you.

Gosh Arlene, turn around twice and you miss so much! With my human’s activities regarding the release of his book it’s kept us all busy. Sorry to hear about the shoulder. The Geezer has a severely torn rotator cuff from football many years ago. He said he sure can commiserate with you. Your trip to the beach looks nice but so different from ours. It’s hot as hadies right now! Say Happy Birthday to Lisa.
    Sandy

    • I know Sandy, this is such a busy place with everyone trying to get in their two pennyworth of thoughts and ideas, and I’m no exception on good days.
It was a slightly chilly evening on the beach i admit, but it was late evening, we’ve had a couple of warm days then it cools down again,, it just can’t make up it’s mind. 😦
Keep us up to scratch [?] with the Geezers book., thanks for visit.

  4. Oh yes! Good ole Gorden Bennett! Very fine and noble character that one 🙂 Miss your presence here online so hope you’re back to your usual self soon…sounds like a fun family event though, so no doubt that helped to keep your spirits up. I’m on catch-up too…supposed to be going out for a couple of hours but at this rate all the shops will be shut by the time I get there! Might have to make do with a quick trip to McDonalds instead 😉

    • Hi Wolfie, I do think of what everyone is up to and wonder what I’m missing when I’m not online to you all, I do find that using the laptop a bit more cramped due to the shoulder problem and if I go in to the spare room to use the desktop, I can’t watch TV.
I’ll keep up to scratch as often as I can. so thanks for missing me. LOL.
I couldn’t be bothered cooking to-night as I had a friend up this afternoon, so I just had some cereal and toast, Two breakfasts in one day, can’t be bad.

  5. ah, so Gordon Bennett’s still alive and well, Arlene, he’s one of my favourites too. 😉
Good to catch your update, as I was just going to sign off for the day and although you probably won’t believe it, I was just thinking about you, and there you showed on the update list. A touch of fate or what?… 😀 … Great photo’s in that they show a family group, together and truly enjoying themselves, especially little Tommy, (who seems to be tucking in, Tommy Tucker? ah well,. don’t say I never try!!) … Hope the pain eases, with less need for inflams… and hope the weather stays great, we’ve got full sunshine… and my roofs now fixed… (Yaaay!!… but I’m minus £500 😦 … ah well could have been worse) hugs to you three and Nettle, from l’il ole me. xPenx

    • Wow Pen, that was quick I was still editing and putting it on Blogspot, as Live writer’s not so clever on XP, I’m just signing off now to take poor dog’s out they have been so patient with me to-day, but I just had to try and catch up. Sorry about your roof, can’t you sell some poems, ?? which I must come and visit and have a read, hopefully this evening, if I don’t get too bogged down with trying to sort out videos. Love from we threee Nettle’s gone home.XXXXX
Tommy Tucker, that’s good, though he’s only a tiny chap.
