Arlene and two adopted dogs.

Just a blog from someone who loves to communicate with other dog owners

Life’s clock

Till my typing is less uncomfortable I’m just C&P’ing, Hope to catch up soon, thanks all for good wishes ,  OUCH!

The clock of life is wound but once,

And no man has the power

To tell just where the hands will stop

at late or early hour.

To lose one’s wealth is sad indeed,

To lose one’s health is more,

To lose one’s soul is such a loss,

That, no man can restore.

The present only is our own

Live, love, toil with a will-

Place no faith in tomorrow – for

The clock may then be still.

Thank you for visiting and please come back, Arlene, Tango and Ruby

  1. I love clocks, Arlene, so many tick away in my home.(so long as I remember to wind them up) They remind me to get on with stuff, for they are ticking away my life, second by second, minute by minute… etc.. Lovely poem, and hugs to you (soft ones) for a quick recovery., also hugs to Tango and Ruby, have a pain free week-end. xPenx

  2. Oh dear….poor Arlene…hope the pain subsides and gives you a break sooner rather than later. good to see you’re still around here though 🙂 Hope Tango’s looking after you! Lots of truths in that poem…a really good read 🙂 Wolfie hugs for you 🙂

  3. So true. We aren’t promised tomorrow. A very thought provoking poem.
I am so behind on many blogs .I’m sorry you’re having pain and hoping it’ll pass soon.
